Antistatic knitted fabrics are specially designed materials whose main purpose is to eliminate electrostatic discharge. Thanks to their structure, they remove electrostatic charge from the surface of the body, thus preventing discharges and electrostatic fields. This process helps protect sensitive electronic components from damage. Antistatic knitted fabrics are usually referred to by the acronym ESD.
This protection is provided by carbon or metal fibres that are knitted into the material in the form of regular strips or are already contained in the yarns.
